The Investment Advisor Alliance has chosen Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services, Schwab Advisor Services, and TradePMR as custodians of clients' funds.
All brokerages offer an array of services and products to assist advisors and their clients. As true securities supermarkets, both leverage technology and the longstanding reputations of their clearing partners, making them ideal partners for IAA and the affiliated advisors.
All client funds, except bank deposit programs, which are insured by FDIC, are insured by the Securities Investor Protection Corporation ("SIPC") up to $500,000 (including cash claims limited to $250,000). TradePMR, Schwab, and FBS have each arranged for additional insurance protection for cash and securities to supplement its SIPC coverage. This additional protection covers account net equity in excess of the $500,000/$250,000 coverage provided by SIPC to their respective limits. Neither coverage protects against a decline in the market value of securities. Coverage is an agreement between Schwab, Fidelity, or Trade PMR and their contracted insurers.
Through our custodial relationships all standard account types can be opened; plus SEP-IRAs, Self-Employed 401(k)s, and retirement plans for businesses of all sizes. Providing advice to certain types of retirement plans requires excess Fiduciary and E&O insurance coverage.
More than 10,000 mutual funds are available with some popular load fund families available at NAV. Each custodian carries a robust selection of NTF funds. If you would like to confirm the funds you currently use are available through any of the custodians, please contact one of our associates. At Fidelity, all Fidelity funds are No Transaction Fee.
For approved advisors Dimensional Funds will be made available at Fidelity, TD, or Schwab. DFA is an exclusive mutual fund company that offers their products to clients only through investment advisors. Advisors will be required to go through an interview/qualification process which includes attendance at their advisor conference. Hybrid advisors are not eligible to utilize DFA funds with IAA.
Advisors also have access to IAA's trade support and the custodian's exchange connectivity online to access equities and ETFs listed on the NYSE, NASDAQ, and AMEX.
As all advisors know fixed income is an integral part of a client portfolio. The fixed income departments of our custodians are experienced in facilitating trades. Fixed income trading is fully accessible online. Advisors may opt to outsource their fixed income allocations to a Separate Account Manager via the custodial platforms or manage the portfolios themselves.
Variable Annuities can provide a level of protection for investors and with IAA's Open Access structure, Advisors can manage VA portfolios in vehicles offered by Aegon, Jefferson National, Phoenix, and Fidelity Investments Life Insurance Company. As the advisor to the account you include the assets within the variable annuity in your assets under management and are fully billed as such.
The Investment Advisor Alliance LLC is not affiliated with any of the aforementioned entities.
